GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS, INFORMATION AND APPLICATION THE JACK AND RITA JONES SCHOLARSHIP FUND FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 207 Eighth St. N., Clanton, Alabama 35045 Phone: (205) 755-0490 WHO MAY APPLY: Any prospective student (male or female), resident of the U.S.A. who plans to pursue a higher education or college, including trade and vocational school may file an application. All applicants must be citizens of the United States of America on the date the application is filed. This application must be filed with The Rita Jones Scholarship Fund Committee, First United Methodist Church, 207 Eighth Street N., Clanton, Alabama 35045 on the date advised. To be considered as eligible for this one year grant, a student must: a.) have an overall B average; b.) earn a diploma from an accredited public school or an accredited private school (certificate not acceptable); c.) G.P.A. and A.C.T. are must be provided with a notarized copy of high school transcript; and d.) have letter of acceptance from the college they will attend. The recipient of this one year grant must enroll as a full-time student. Qualification of a dependent minor applicant will be based on parents’ average gross income. The Scholarship money may be used for State schools, trade schools, vocational schools and private schools anywhere in the United States of America. This is an assistance Grant and is not intended to cover the full cost of your education. It is the responsibility of the student to also seek assistance from other sources for cost of education that is not covered by this Grant through personal or parental contribution or through other sources of assistance programs. GRANT PAYMENT: A check payable to a school of your choice will be made upon receipt of verification of the amount of tuition and fees. This Award money will only help cover payment for this current year. (2000-2001). An application form can be found in the email that contained these instructions. It must be filled out and returned with other documentation to the First Methodist Church by 3:30 P.M. January 31, 2020. It should be sealed have my name on the envelop or mailed to me at, Ms. Belva Johns, 1201 Hinkle Road, Clanton, AL 35045. These funds are provided by Rita Jones Scholarship Trust of the Alabama-West Florida United Methodist Foundation. This scholarship is designed to assist a student meeting the requirements stated and who would otherwise not be financially able to attend college.
