For high school seniors applying to Auburn for the Fall or Summer of 2021, our application will open at www.auburn.edu/apply tomorrow, August 15th. We will also be available on the Common Application this year. However, we will not open on the Common Application until Monday, August 17th. Students can apply to Auburn through either option, and will not have an advantage or disadvantage either way. A completed application file this year will include the following:
· Submitted Admission Application.
· Paid the $50 non-refundable application fee or application fee waiver (ACT/SAT fee waiver, NACAC fee waiver or free or reduced lunch program).
· Uploaded copy of an applicant’s high school transcript(s).
· Uploaded copy of one of the following Supplemental Documents:
o Graded Writing Assignment
§ The graded assignment should include the student’s full name, the date the paper was submitted and the grade earned, along with the teacher’s recommendations (if available).
o ACT or SAT Score Report
o Expanded Resume
o AP or IB Score Report
As you’ll notice from the above requirements, Auburn University will be test-optional for Summer and Fall 2021 applicants. I cannot stress this point enough – if an applicant chooses not to send ACT or SAT scores to Auburn, their admissions application will NOT be penalized. Our review will be completely holistic, and applicants will be asked to respond to four short answer questions based on non-cognitive variables within their applications.
Our dates and deadlines will be as follows:
· September 15, 2020: Early Action Deadline
Applications files completed by this date will be reviewed to receive a mid-October admission decision.
· October 15, 2020: Early Action Deadline
Applications files completed by this date will be reviewed to receive a mid-November admission decision.
· December 1, 2020: Final Early Action Deadline
Applications files completed by this date will be reviewed to receive a mid-January admission decision.
For scholarship consideration students should have a complete application file by this date.
· January 22, 2021: Regular Decision Deadline
Applications files completed by this date will be reviewed to receive a mid-February admission decision
· February 1, 2021: Final Regular Decision Deadline
All application files completed by this date will be reviewed to receive a mid-March admission decision.
· February 1, 2021: Scholarship Application Deadline for Scholarship Consideration and the FAFSA Deadline for Maximum Consideration for Need-Based Scholarships. To be considered for financial aid, including need-based scholarships, students selected for FAFSA verification must complete the verification process by the February 1 FAFSA Priority Deadline.
· Mid-March: Final round of regular decisions released.
· May 1: Enrollment Deposit deadline. Deadline to Accept or Decline Scholarship Offers
I appreciate your patience and flexibility throughout this summer with the limited information and updates I’ve been able to provide! Our institution has been working to adapt our admissions process to be as flexible as possible, but it’s definitely taken some time to get all of the logistics figured out!
At the moment, our Scholarship Office is still finalizing the details on exactly what scholarships will look like – specifically for merit based scholarships. When I have that information available, I will provide you all with it immediately.
